Plan, Pricing, and Sign-Up FAQs

What's the difference between Red Wrangler and publishing services like Homestead.com, Yahoo!, GoDaddy, and others?

In one word: control. Red Wrangler is designed for web professionals who provide internet marketing services for multiple clients. You can't do that well if you're locked into hosting, design, or the other constraints of these services.

Instead, we've built a service we would want for ourselves and our clients. If a client insists on changing their hosting service, no problem. If we inherit a page design from a new client, also no problem. If a client wants to run their email through their internal email server, no problem. If a client wants to change the keywords and phrases for their site, no problem. Six clients call and want changes done today? It's only one URL and login.

Yes, you might get a website for $50 a year from GoDaddy. But you won't get anything near the flexibility Red Wrangler offers compared to publishing-only services. And you won't get support from real life web professionals who design and code for a living. We're here to make you look good to your clients. And ease the burden of supporting multiple clients.

(Web professionals who place one or more paid clients with Red Wrangler also get a free account.)

Can Red Wrangler Handle Multiple Websites for My Client?

Yes. Create a website connection for each website then assign the appropriate website to each page, template, or other data you create. Your home page also will show a list of your websites: click a website name and Red Wrangler displays only data for that website. Whether you have one website or many websites, one client or many clients, you can manage them easily in one place online. Please note that you can buy additional website connections in bulk, 10 at a time, for a small increase in your monthly cost.

Is Red Wrangler a Content Management System (CMS)?

Yes. But it also is much more. Any content management tool can publish your website. Red Wrangler is designed to be much easier to use than comparable CMS tools. We have removed links, used plain English link labels (no "Modules" and "Publish" instead of "Write"), and staged links efficiently.

However, web professionals have to solve problems well beyond providing a publishing tool to their clients. That's why Red Wrangler makes it easy to create forms and capture leads, store logins, manage client data, and more.

Bottomline, if you're a web designer who sets their clients up with a WordPress blog to publish non-blog web pages, or you provide no publishing tool, you should look at Red Wrangler. It's an even easier and more comprehensive solution for both web professionals and non-technical clients.

Do I have to give up Dreamweaver?

Nope. Red Wrangler takes the static html pages you create with Dreamweaver (or any publishing tool) and turns them into a few templates. You still use your favorite tools. Once you've got your website pages, however, Red Wrangler makes it much easier to maintain your code, let your clients make changes to their content, and provide you with 1-click access to make changes to your client websites. Think of Red Wrangler as the last step that wraps up all the loose ends for your internet projects.

How does the 30-day trial work? When will I be billed?

For new accounts, not upgraded accounts, you get a 30 day free trial. You will be billed based upon your selected subscription plan at the end of 30 days. When you upgrade, this starts a new billing cycle. We bill monthly to avoid the complexity and hassle of refunds.

How do websites connections work?

Every plan includes 1 website connection. You can add additional connections to help manage your website. For example, you might want to publish an internet site and small websites for each of your sales offices. Most people don't need this capability but it is there if you do.

What does "about 1 hour of free setup support" actually mean? What's involved with setting up a site in Red Wrangler?

Red Wrangler creates websites with an easy three step process. First, you create your website connection. That takes about a minute. Second, you create templates to display your page content. Typically that takes about 10 minutes to create and test 3-5 different templates. Third, you create and publish your pages. Creating and testing 10-12 static pages takes about 45 minutes.

We work with you to make the setup as quick and painless as possible. You're welcome to follow our three-step process and do it yourself. Or we can create the templates and leave you to create pages. Once you create an account, let us know if you need setup support. Our mission is to help web professionals and so we'll work with you to make things as easy as possible.

Can Red Wrangler publish every possible kind of website?

Red Wrangler was designed to publish our client's websites which range from brochure websites to complex ecommerce websites that require search friendly product catalog and detail pages. The vast majority of business websites work great with brochure websites and something slightly more complicated.

Red Wrangler can handle Javascript, PHP, ASP, and ColdFusion code no problem. And file extensions for your pages can be most anything you want, from .html to .php to .cfm to .yippee and beyond.

Do you provide webhosting? Email marketing delivery? Online surveys?

Nope. We're happy to recommend these services. But we focus on what we do best. Red Wrangler is a workflow and publishing service that makes it easier for web professionals to help their clients make the most of their internet projects.

Is Red Wrangler a blogging tool? Wiki? Social software? [fill in the blank]

Nope, nope, nope, and probably nope. Think of Red Wrangler as a foundation on which you can build any capability. We have clients with a blog. So we set them up with WordPress then store the WordPress URL and login in Red Wrangler, same as the logins for their cart, web server control panel, website reporting tools, and so on. Why replicate great software? Instead, we've built a terrific, flexible foundation with an easy to use publishing and lead management tool with the ability to add anything else you might need.

If I cancel, what happens to my data?

Short answer: It's your data and we will do what it takes to get you your data. Red Wrangler publishes static web pages rather than build them on the fly. So you have your web pages at all times. Your leads can be exported any time in CSV/Excel format. You can print out all your logins.

Do I need any special software to use Red Wrangler?

Nope. Red Wrangler is a software application available over the internet from anywhere in the world you can find an internet connection. You will need a modern web browser, for example, Internet Explorer 6.0+, Firefox, or Opera. We've designed our application to be fairly simple so it displays well with any browser. But we only guarantee the modern browsers work best.

Can any type of business set up a site with Red Wrangler?

Well, we don't allow pornography websites, scam websites, or websites that disrespect people. Red Wrangler is designed to help graphic designers, programmers, and others who provide websites and internet marketing capabilities to multiple business and non-profit clients. However, anyone with a slight technical bent can use Red Wrangler to create and maintain their internet projects. Plus we work hard to provide you great support.

What's with Ranch and Trainer for subscription plan names?

They're types of western horse saddles: Ranch and Trainer. While there are many kinds of western saddles, these seemed to express best the range of subscription plans, from sturdy and all-purpose (Ranch) to simple (Trainer). And no, you don't have to ride a horse to use Red Wrangler.

Isn't the cowboy thing a little goofy?

Dem's fightin' words, bucko... Seriously, when it came time to design this site and the application, we looked at many application service provider (ASP) peer sites, for example, BaseCamp, Harvest, BlinkSale, and CampaignMonitor, among others. With all due respect, they're too corporate and polished and minimalist for our taste. Just because we can imitate everyone else doesn't mean we should. We really liked the sassy approach of email delivery service MailChimp (wave your cursor over their monkey and watch him blink!). We believe the web should be theatrical and fun. We chose a western theme because we're based in Cave Creek, Arizona, a dusty town with two feed stores and saloons where you can toss your peanut shells on the floor. We have the elements our peer sites have. We trust our audience of web professionals appreciate our sense of fun.
