1. Built by a Web Designer for Web Designers
Red Wrangler grew out of five years frustration selling in web content management systems (CMSs), email marketing, web site reporting, and other tools to clients. And before that, six years trying to find content management tools non-technical people could use at Reuters and Oxford Health Plans.
Red Wrangler solves the technology and workflow problems web designers face. The interface is easy to use. You and your clients won't find scary links called 'Modules' or wander endless tabs and links. There are no configuration files. We also add must-have functionality smaller clients dream of but rarely can afford, for example, collecting and managing online and offline leads.
Anyone can use Red Wrangler to manage content and websites, quantify and export leads, and more easily keep track of URLs and logins for services like Google AdWords. But it is optimized for web professionals who provide internet marketing capabilities to multiple clients.
2. Setup is 1-2-3
We've also heard this claim before. However, putting a web site into Red Wrangler really does take three steps: 1. Enter your web site connection information, 2. Create your page templates, and 3. Create your web pages. Done. No software to install. And you can still create everything in Dreamweaver or similar tool before you pop it into Red Wrangler.
3. Publish Web Sites and Web Pages
We've separated web site content from the design. You and your clients can add and modify page content without messing with graphics and links. And our templates use a simple set of tags to make it easy to create and maintain powerful templates that publish static web pages. Depending on your monthly subscription plan, you can publish one web site or multiple web sites, for example, an internet site, intranet site, and client sites.
4. Manage Online and Offline Leads
Even small businesses can benefit from the ability to collect leads from their web site and offline. Red Wrangler makes it easy to customize and publish a Contact Us page to collect online leads. Then includes a basic lead management tool to view, modify, add, and quantify leads. And you can download your leads to use with almost any email delivery service. It's not Salesforce.com but it works fine for most small businesses. And it costs a lot less.
5. Store All Those Logins & URLs
To do internet marketing right, you need to use many different vendors, for example, Google Analytics for web site activity and ecommerce reporting, Google AdWords, online surveys, and so on. The average client uses 4-6 services, each with their own login and URL. Red Wrangler makes it easy to store and use your logins. No more digging in search of that sticky note with the URL you need. (Red Wrangler also points you to good vendors to check out: see #8 below.)
6. 1-Click Access to Your Client Sites & Data
If you're a solo web designer, or a small design firm, the 4-6 logins and URLs you use for each client to do internet marketing quickly add up. Red Wrangler collects all your client names in one list of links. Click on a client name and Red Wrangler displays their web site and internet marketing data. When you're done with their changes, click another client name and update their site. You can make changes for many clients all with one easy to remember login and URL.
7. Extensive Search Engine Friendliness Built In
Red Wrangler templates include an HTML Title tag that makes it easy to build search engine friendly page titles. And all pages are output to your web hosting service as static web pages, the easiest type of web pages for search engines to process. We also include basic knowledge about how to structure the HTML in your templates to make sure search engines know how content relates to other content on your page. In addition, you can define default site meta tags then customize the meta tags for a specific page.
You also can use a shorter page title in your HTML Title tag and a more keyword-rich content title within your content, for example, wrapped in HTML heading tags. Red Wrangler also includes a template tag that generates bread crumb navigation links and you can automatically generate sets of navigation links where you can define each link label with appropriate keywords or phrases. Whatever you need to tweak your site for search engines, Red Wrangler has the flexibility built in.
8. How-to Knowledge Included
From 2002-2008, Red Wrangler's founder published a free how-to website, ReachCustomersOnline.com, for his clients and other web designers. Google ranks the site high for important but hard to find internet marketing knowledge, for example, how to code html emails so they display well in most email software. That knowledge and more has been folded into Red Wrangler to help solo web designers provide even better service to their clients.
9. Avoid Vendor Lock-In
We hate being locked into vendors. So Red Wrangler is designed to make it easy for you to find and switch vendors over time. Need to change your web hosting service? Just change your web site connection information in Red Wrangler and publish to your new hosting service. Need to add a service? Just add it to your stored logins and URLs.
(BTW, vendor lock-in is THE reason we don't provide web hosting. But we're happy to recommend hosting and other services through the Resources pages.)
10. Red Wrangler is Constantly Evolving
We improve Red Wrangler based upon the needs of our web design clients and your feedback. For example, we completely rebuilt our form creation process to accommodate a client who needed to define every form field their way. We welcome you to join us, help your clients, and help evolve Red Wrangler.
11. BONUS: Red Wrangler is Easy to Find
Okay, we can't stop at 10 reasons. Perhaps the neatest thing about Red Wrangler is that it is so easy to find. Can you (or your client) remember your domain name? How about your email address? A favorite password? That's all you need to find Red Wrangler from any computer with a modern web browser and an internet connection. When you create a website connection, Red Wrangler puts a folder and small file on your webserver so you can use this URL: http://www.yourdomain.com/red. That'll get you to Red Wrangler and all your pages, leads, and logins.

What Subscribers Say
"Red Wrangler puts everything in one place. I can use my own web address to find my shopping cart, leads, affiliate site, and all the rest. It's also much easier to tweak our site for search engines. Best of all, I did not have to change hosting or web design."

Tools + How-To Knowledge
Great tools are not enough for web designers and their clients to succeed. Unlike other tools, Red Wrangler includes how-to information about all aspects of internet marketing. Some is embedded in the application. Some is in the form of a blog and a list of carefully vetted resources. (The blog has been active since late 2002, at ReachCustomersOnline.com, and has ranked highly with Google on some internet marketing topics, for example, how to code HTML email newsletters.)
